Couples
Therapy
When is the right time to see a therapist?
The majority of couples that I work with say they needed and should have started therapy years earlier. Most experts believe that therapy can be an important part of your relationship. Most issues start small and grow in size if left unresolved. This is where therapy can help, by giving tools and techniques to improve conflict resolution.
There are three sides to every story: his side, her side, and the truth. An objective third party can be just the ticket when couples feel they can no longer communicate effectively. Rather than viewing therapy as the solution to a crisis, look at it as an integral aspect of a healthy life and partnership.
Every couple can take preventive measures to maintain health in their relationship, just like going to the gym. If couples neglect their emotional 'muscle', the relationship becomes weak and there is an increased chance of permanent damage to their bond.
